Template notice: this is a starting-point document written for the Folio demo. Have a qualified lawyer review it and replace the bracketed placeholders (company name, address, contact email) before launch.
Folio respects authors’ rights. If you believe a preview on Folio infringes your copyright, tell us and we will review it promptly.
Quick report
Open the book and use the Report button, choosing “Copyright infringement”. For a formal notice, email the details below.
What to include in a notice
- Your name, address, phone number and email.
- A description of the copyrighted work you own or are authorised to act for.
- The link (URL) of the Folio book page you believe infringes.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Send notices to copyright@example.com. Notices are handled in line with the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
What happens next
We may unpublish the book while we investigate, notify the author, and restore or permanently remove it depending on the outcome. Accounts that repeatedly infringe are suspended.
Counter-notice
If your content was removed by mistake, email us with the book link and why you hold the rights. We will review and, where appropriate, restore it.
