1. About these terms
Folio (“we”, “us”) provides a website where authors publish preview pages of their books and readers view them in 3D. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
2. Readers
You may view previews for personal, non-commercial use. You must not scrape, copy, redistribute, or attempt to reconstruct or download books from the previews, or circumvent any technical measure we use to protect them.
3. Authors and your content
- You must own, or have permission to publish, everything you upload.
- You keep all rights in your work. You grant Folio a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process (including compressing and resizing) and display your preview pages and metadata for the purpose of running the service.
- You choose how many pages to preview. Only upload pages you are comfortable making publicly viewable.
- You may unpublish or delete a book at any time; cached copies may remain briefly.
4. Prohibited content
You may not upload content that is unlawful, infringes anyone’s rights, is sexually explicit involving minors, promotes violence or hatred, contains malware, or is deceptive or spam. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
5. Reporting and takedowns
Every book has a “Report” button. If you believe content infringes your copyright, follow the process on our Copyright & takedowns page. Accounts of repeat infringers may be suspended.
6. Accounts
Authors sign in with Google or email. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your credentials safe.
7. Availability and changes
The service is provided “as is”. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may update these terms; continued use means you accept the updated terms.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [your city], India have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights.
